For people who think that reading is like eating shit, I am very sorry but you are my number five enemy (the others have grave offenses than yours).
Yes we could never have enough book haters in this world. A friend once discussed her resentment towards books when I was just a high school student, up to now she's still glued to the screen of her television set and getting fat this minute.
Not reading is one thing, but hating it? You have got to be some materialistic freak cum tvholic sod to do so. Not that tv and books don't mix, but usually that is the opposing pole.
Tv now overpowers books and the struggle continues (as one political party in our school would say). But why should be their conflict resulting in the ingnorance and hating of one party? Rule: You should not like books because your a movie-show-goer. I don't think so, thank you very much. People may say that it's not their inclination to read, I am very sorry for those people who are so shallow enough to think that reading are for the un-cool. Let's see it then after twenty years, if you don't read the dictionary or the book of common word to find the meaning of vivisepulture and ecumenical.
So why then are there opposing poles? The answer is because we just want to put one. We ourselves set boundaries. We ourselves say that one media is better when infact, they are just the same, they sometimes both lie, they sometimes mislead, they both inform, and they both give ideas for you think using that portable computer on your cranium.
So why detest? Why not love both?/KP
naku, naku kitikiti... why do you care about them? if these people are old enough to read, let them pick a book. kon indi man or wala gid sa ila nga lifetime, it's not your problem. the solution: surround yourself with people who read books - no, not just read gali - eat sentences and inhale vocabs. :D
